As of 3/28/2020, I no longer identify as having realized any stage on a traditional map of awakening.  However, all positive effects of practice described within this journal are true to my direct, ongoing experience.

This blog contains my experiences with taking a pragmatic approach to meditation practice in an attempt to reverse symptoms of bipolar disorder, beyond what is possible with medication and therapy alone.  

While there is a common belief in serious meditation circles that deep practice is mostly about unconditionally surrendering to one's experience, I think that this is simply one, important ingredient in a balanced approach.  My primary concern is to explore how transformational shifts to one's baseline of awareness can and do improve the contents of the experience that one is aware of.  

I have found journaling to be incredibly helpful on this journey for a variety of reasons.  Since the online journals of others have inspired me, I figured mine might be a source of inspiration, or at least entertainment, for some folks.  Thanks for reading!
